2020 SCHEDULE COMPLETE! Full list of who's on and who's off...

We finally have our 2020 schedule complete for the Lake Michigan Tournament Trail! While I suppose it could have been better, the truth is it could have been a whole lot worse. We ended up split almost right down the middle with 7 events cancelled and 8 events confirmed.

Here are the events we lost in 2020 due to Covid 19:
Michigan City, St. Joseph, South Haven, Grand Haven, Muskegon, Holland & Onekama.

That of course leaves us with the following:
Sheboygan, Manistee Budweiser, Ludington, Manistee Splash, Saugatuck, Frankfort, Manistee Monster and Traverse City.

Some information is limited at this time as the decisions from Ludington, Saugatuck, Frankfort and TC just came down over the last couple of days. Keep checking their tournament pages for updates. Thanks for your interest and we hope to see out on the Trail this season!

GT Salmon Classic Confirmed for 2020!

You can now add Traverse City to the list of confirmed Tournament Trail events on the 2020 Schedule. ChronologicallytThe Grand Traverse Salmon Classic will be the final event of the season and is scheduled for September 4-6. Find out more online at www.fish-tc.com and follow the event on Facebook.

Manistee Double Shot!

We’ve got two more events to add to the list of confirmations today! The Manistee Salmon Splash in July and The Monster in August are a go for 2020! Keep them on your calendar! We have contingency plans in place that will likely effect registration, the Captain’s Meeting, Weigh-Ins and the Award Ceremony. Watch for more specifics coming soon. The Manistee County Sport Fishing Association has officially decided to proceed with the 2020 MCSFA Budweiser Pro/Am June 26-28. This includes the Ladies on Friday, Pro/Am/333 on Saturday and Sunday. Teams should expect changes to event procedures including registration, weigh ins and awards to follow current state and CDC guidelines. Watch for more info coming soon here, and at www.MCSFA.org. CUP CONFIRMED!

We are very pleased to announce that the 2020 Sheboygan Salmon Cup WILL take place this season June 12-14 in Sheboygan, WI. Pro, Am and 333 divisions will be available. 2020 Muskegon SHOdown Cancelled

After much discussion we have decided to cancel the 2020 SHOdown. We will be back and better than ever in 2021! We appreciate all the input and support and look forward to seeing you all next year! In the meantime, Be safe and support your local small businesses.

2020 Big Red Classic Cancelled

The Big Red Foundation board announced the cancellation of the 2020 Big Red Classic and the preliminary Save the Ta-Ta’s Tournament. The Classic becomes the 5th event lost this year due to Covid 19. To read their full cancellation statement click HERE.

South Haven Steelheaders Pro/Am Cancelled for 2020

Today the announcement was made that the South Haven Steelheaders Pro/Am scheduled for May 15-17 has been cancelled. Read the full announcement HERE.

Ludington Registration On Hold. Event still tentatively scheduled for July.

Ludington’s Offshore Classic announced today that they have put registration on hold. The current plan is to make a final decision on the status of the Classic on June 15th. Read the full announcement on the Classic’s Facebook Page HERE.

Michigan City's 2020 Horizon Bank Hoosier Coho Club Classic Cancelled

Due to the uncertainty and the fluid nature of the Covid-19 Pandemic the Hoosier Coho Club has reached the decision to cancel the 2020 Horizon Bank Coho Classic and all HCC preliminary events leading up to it. This includes the Coho Capital Derby, JB West Buffalo Bill, Bellman Oil Pro/Am and the Hartman Memorial. 2020 Schu's Summer Challenge in St. Joseph Cancelled

Grand Haven Offshore Challenge: 2020 Event Now Cancelled

Event Update: South Haven Friday 5

The organizers of the South Haven Steelheaders Pro/Am have released a statement concerning their preliminary event, the Star of the Lake Friday 5 Challenge. In summary, they remain hopeful that the event will be held as planned. However, they are keeping a close eye on the Covid 19 Pandemic and the restrictions that are in place because of it. South Haven is also dealing with extremely high water levels. They have decided that the best course of action at this time is to postpone any final decision until the end of April. Tournament Trail 2020 Season Update

Well, my phone and email has been blowing up since I delivered books yesterday so I’ve decided to add this blog to the Tournament Trail website as a centralized source for information on the 2020 Schedule as it relates to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

At this time there are no changes to the Tournament Trail Schedule.

We are monitoring the situation and maintaining close communication with event organizers and tournament committees. I will keep you updated here and on the Tournament Trail Facebook Page if and when any changes are made. Please check back often and if you have any specific questions you are always welcome to contact me directly at (231) 690-1102. I’ll do my best to answer them, but keep in mind that the situation is fluid and continues to change rapidly.
